Joe Figliomeni from Fazzari + Partners will speak on Mandatory Disclosure rules and tax update.
Ryan Antonello and Chris Lang from Felesky Flynn LLP give an update to the intergenerational business transfer rules (currently, Bill C-208) as well as recent amendments to the general anti-avoidance rule (GAAR). They will discuss the practical impacts to tax planners arising from these changes.
Joe Figliomeni, CPA, CA, TEP (Fazzari + Partners LLP)
Joe is a Partner in our Tax Group. He joined Fazzari + Partners LLP in 2014 and established himself as a valuable member of the team. He qualified for his CPA, CA designation in 2017 and transitioned to Partner in 2021. Joe completed CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Course (Levels I, II and III) in 2019 and is currently pursuing a Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation with the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Canada.
Ryan Antonello, CA – Barrister & Solicitor (Felesky Flynn LLP)
Ryan practices in all areas of Canadian tax law, with a focus on income tax planning. Prior to becoming a tax lawyer, Ryan earned his Chartered Accountant designation and practiced at a global accounting firm. Ryan has written and presented on numerous tax topics for a variety of publications and groups.
Chris Lang – Barrister & Solicitor (Felesky Flynn LLP)
