Session Description
The world of investigative interviewing and the methods taught to investigative interviewers are at a critical crossroads. Courts are increasingly questioning traditional interview approaches, which tend to rely on deception detection methodology and are heavily focused toward eliciting confessions. This session will discuss emerging trends impacting investigative interviewing, advancing methods supported by science (i.e., PEACE, Motivational interviewing) which are gaining traction all over the world. Participants will benefit from watching compelling real-life interview clips from both well executed and poorly executed interviews.
